How UNIMIL Was Born

Unimil was born from a meeting of two people from different continents who shared the same dream. In 2007, during a bitter February winter in the town of Lynn, Massachusetts, God had a special agenda to start a new chapter in our lives.

I am Pastor Estefson Silveira, born in Brazil, serving the Lord Jesus Christ for 38 years and growing more passionate about the lives lost and the cause of the most needy. Married to Fabricia Silveira, father of five children—Emanuel, Samuel, Stefany, Grace, and Joshua, who had not yet been born when Unimil started. Born again in Christ Jesus in the Presbyterian Church of Brazil, where I had the foundations and the Faith strengthened for 11 years serving the Lord. In 1996, I moved to the United States of America, serving the Lord in the Assemblies of God, involved with the mission of the church until 2001. From 2001 to 2007, I served the Shalom Baptist Community of Boston, where I completed my theology degree and was ordained a pastor in 2007. From this year onward, we began to get involved with the missionary project in the Democratic Republic of Congo in Central Africa. Since then, we have served the African continent in countries such as Angola, Mozambique, Zambia, and Congo. Today, we have two secondary schools in Zambia serving more than 500 children. Our dream is very small compared to God’s dreams. During this period, God has raised up families, self-employed entrepreneurs, pastors, and churches to sustain Unimil’s ministry. The mission embraces all who defend our moral and spiritual values, always valuing the neighbor who needs it most. This is why we have been operating on the African continent since 2007.

Going back to the unusual meeting of the winter of 2007 in the state of Massachusetts, God brought from the Congo a person who today is more than a friend but a true brother, my twin brother, Pastor Allan Ilunga. When we met for the first time, he was married to Delphina Ilunga, and they had only a six-month-old baby—little Adam, who today is a 16-year-old giant. Today he is the father of five children: Adam, Alex, Abel, Allan Jr., and Abigail. During this period, God also gave us Grace and Joshua. In 16 years, God gave us a large family in Congo and Zambia.

There are thousands of pastors serving the Lord, thousands of families transformed by the power of the gospel, and thousands of children receiving a good education and the principles of the kingdom of God. Pastor Allan now lives in Zambia and is the President of Unimil on the African continent. I live in the state of South Carolina, USA, pastoring Life Church for the Nations, President of Unimil in the USA. Our job is to provide spiritual, emotional, and financial support to Unimil’s projects on the African continent. We continue to dream big things for the projects that Unimil supports. In addition to the UBUMI schools in Kitwe and the school in Musenga, we have several projects such as Naomi Caring for Widows, Bible for Africa, Water That Transforms Lives, and several other social projects in these two countries. As we know that God’s dreams are bigger, He will always surprise us, and we hope that you, who have made it this far, will be God’s good surprise for the UNIMIL family.

In the great love of Jesus Christ.

Who We Are

UNIMIL – United Mission For Life, is an international and non-denominational missionary organization, founded in 2007 in Boston, MA, USA, by Pastor Estefson Silveira and Pastor Allan Ilunga, both passionate about missions and lost souls. Unimil was born with the vision of UNITY, and our goal is to promote support for the church on the African continent in its task of evangelization and social transformation, joining it in the same purpose: to reach the lost.

We believe that the church is God’s agency on earth, and it is through it that society will have the opportunity to experience true and healthy transformation, receiving a meaningful contribution to become relevant in response to people’s needs. As an organization, we aim to provide a holistic approach to community development, assisting in the transformation of people based on the three major pillars of human existence: Spiritual, Social, and Economic.

VISION

To identify localities and communities with the greatest need for the Gospel on the African continent and anywhere else in the world and to work together with brothers of all denominations to meet their spiritual, physical, and emotional needs, providing comprehensive assistance in the areas of Health, Education, and Community Development. With an inclusive vision, we believe that the Body of Christ must work in unity with the goal of expanding the kingdom of God throughout the earth, according to Jesus’ command given in his Great Commission: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit; teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the world.” (Matthew 28:18-20)

VALUES

We believe in the strength and power of UNITY, and for this, we work cohesively so that the common interests of the Gospel are always above human, denominational, or personal ideologies with the sole objective:

To Bring the Gospel, Baptize, Disciple, and Equip Leaders among all peoples, races, tribes, and nations, also serving the most needy such as widows and orphans.

EDUCATION

Through donations, we can raise funds to provide a better space and system for African children and teens to study and create a sustainable future for their lives and careers. Our volunteers build schools and make them safe spaces to help these children find their way in life.

LEISURE

We all deserve some time off from the world here and there. This is what we hope to impact on the communities we work on by granting them activities such as sports, readings, and cultural groups.

FAITH

Faith brings us a sense of meaning and purpose, and that allows us to create a path that we can follow, a path that provides us with support and comfort. This is what we try to attain in these communities by building churches and evangelizing the people to seek a way where they can find connection and guidance.

ASSISTANCE

The quality of life of the people in the communities we serve is a top priority for us. We understand that many people there lack access to basic necessities like food, clean water, healthcare, hygiene, and clothing. That’s why we work tirelessly to provide assistance and support in these critical areas and make one of our primary goals to ensure that every person in the communities we serve has access to anything they need to have good health and life.
